Standing in front of 10,000 law enforcement professionals from around the world is something you don't easily forget. At the World Police Summit in Dubai, Richard gave the opening address, on how technology is going to change security around the world. The audience included ministers, police commissioners from dozens of countries and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
The keynote covered how self-driving police vehicles, networks of surveillance drones, training in virtual reality and forensic work with AI will profoundly change the fight against crime. At the summit, Richard saw the latest innovations from suppliers and government agencies: technology that Dubai Police already intends to use.
The highlight came afterwards: a conversation with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, about how forward-looking countries can stay one step ahead of new security threats.
