Fifty Interpol officers from around the world came together to learn how AI, biotechnology and quantum computing will change crime. That was the brief at the World Police Summit in Dubai.
In three intensive hours, Interpol's top investigators explored the crime of tomorrow: fraud networks using deepfakes, and cybercrime syndicates using quantum encryption.
Interpol fights terrorism, organised crime and cybercrime in 195 countries. People who work there explore scenarios most of us never think about, such as how to fight crime that doesn't exist yet. What happens when criminals have the same advanced technology as the police?
For Interpol these are not theoretical questions: the organisation is preparing for crime involving AI, biotechnology and quantum computing.
