Standing before 10,000 law enforcement professionals from around the world isn’t something you forget quickly.
At the World Police Summit in Dubai, I had the honour of delivering the opening keynote on how technology will reshape global security. The audience included cabinet members, police commissioners from dozens of countries, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of UAE.
My presentation explored how self-driving police vehicles, drone surveillance networks, virtual reality training, and AI-powered forensics will revolutionise crime fighting. But the real excitement came from seeing cutting-edge innovations from suppliers and government departments – technologies that Dubai Police are already planning to implement.
The highlight was my conversation with the Crown Prince afterwards, discussing how forward-thinking nations can stay ahead of emerging security threats. It’s events like these that remind me why understanding the future isn’t just academic, it’s about protecting society.
